This concludes the tails of John and Abby. The dogs' companions on their journeys are shown in this picture of CI 424, Summer 2007. Farewell.

Abigal goes Country!

Abigail and I, Lisa Parker, went on a wonderful trip to end her journey. We traveled to the Brooks -n- Dunn and Alan Jackson concert in Maryland Heights, MO at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater. On the way there we passed the St. Louis Arch. She got so excited that she about flew out of the car trying to get there.
I told her that it would be okay. We would have more fun at the concert. It was pouring down rain on the way there. We arrived at the concert finally after the long drive and we hoped it wouldn't get canceled. It did not! Although, we had trouble getting our tickets when we arrived. It only helped us though. We ended up getting reserved seats in row W and not lawn tickets. We were free from the rain! We sang and danced at the concert during Brooks -n- Dunn with my mom and my cousin. It was my cousin's first concert ever. I left Abigail with my mom during Alan Jackson as I made my way to the front row. I even caught his guitar pick when he threw them out. After Alan Jackson was done performing, I made my way back to my seats. My mom told me Abigail had been cold so she wrapped her up in the blanket that we were supposed to sit on in the lawn. I told Abigail about the guitar pick and she was so excited for me. We left about midnight and Abigail slept on the way back home because it was so late. It was a great night and a great time to end the wonderful journey she went on this summer. YEE-HAW!

GO MINERS!!

Well after class on Thursday May 31st, 2007 Abigail and Christine headed to Marion, IL to see the Miners play some baseball. Once she found out we were leaving she was overly excited and started hanging her head out the window on the way over to catch some fresh air. Lisa and I had to pick up some other friends at the mall before we went to the actual game, so Abigail enjoyed the scenery and people at the mall where she took care of some business in the waterfall in the middle of the mall in Marion. We arrived at the game and she was so exictied. Abigail had never seen so many people before and she was in a completely different atmosphere! I knew Abigail had to be hungry or thirsty, so I bought us both some dippin dots! Aibigail now loves rainbow dippin dots! About midway through the game she was getting tired, so she took a nap until almost the end of the game. It was such a good trip though, I know she would enjoy going back to see the Miners anytime!

Abigail and Luke go for a short walk

May 29th, 2007
Due to the fact that I had to work and study for class, Abigail was unable to travel a great distance the night she was with me. That night I was able to take a short walk and decided to take Abigail along. Abigail did some unspeakable business in my neighbors yard and seemed to enjoy her walk. The picture was taken on a sign near where I live. I just moved in to my new place a couple weeks ago and am still getting all my things in order.

John Goes to George Rogers Clark Memorial

On May 18, 2007, John and I went home for the weekend in my car to Lawrenceville, IL. We had a great time meeting my entire family, but my dad was very skeptical about my new friend. He thought he was entirely too old for me to be spending the weekend traveling with him. John and I decided to take a trip across the river to Vincennes, IN. There are so many historical places in Vincennes, but John really wanted to go to the George Rogers Clark Memorial, which is a permanent memorial, commemorating the winning of the Old Northwest and the achievements of George Rogers Clark and his associates. We walked all along the grounds and even stuck our feet in the Wabash River. We then went to the museum to see all of the history. The museum is the large round building in the background of our picture. We finally decided to head back home and eventually back to Carbondale. We had so much fun, and I can't wait to go back.

John at Devil's Kitchen

On May 30th, 2007, John & Danielle visited Devil's Kitchen Lake in Crab Orchard Wildlife Refuge. They sat by the lake and enjoyed the view, the peace, and the quiet. John desperately wanted to jump into the lake, but there was no swimming allowed and it was getting quite dark.

Abigail goes to the tee ball game!

I had the chance to take Abigail home with me tonight, and luckily enough I had some fun plans. After class we went back to my place to study for my exam tomorrow, but she got to watch TV since she doesnt have to take it. I found out her favorite show was Clifford! Then we traveled to Murphsboro Ill to watch my little cousin's tee ball game!! She had lots of fun cheering them on, and even laid under the lawn chair for a short nap. She said she has had so much fun traveling this session that she is sad to see it come to an end!
